Why is water wet?
What are shadows made of?
Who can sleep with the moon?
What is the colour of the wind?

Why do people fall sick?
Why do people die?
Why do good people suffer?
Why is there so much evil in the world?

Questions that give rise to even more questions. Endless trails of wonder, uncertainty, and confusion. As human beings, we naturally seek answers, solutions, and understanding. Yet, not every question will be answered, and not every mystery will be solved.

Still, we have an assurance.

We have a godly hope—a hope found in Christ Jesus and in the promise of eternal life with Him. We are assured that regardless of how circumstances unfold, we are never alone. His presence remains constant through every season of life.

The truth is that God’s ways are often beyond our understanding:

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.
— Isaiah 55:8 (NIV)

There will be moments when life does not make sense, when prayers seem unanswered, and when suffering feels unbearable. Yet, even then, God calls us to trust Him:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6 (NIV)

Perhaps we do not need an answer to every question or a solution to every problem. What we truly need is the Lord Himself—the One who is the Answer to our deepest questions and the Solution to our greatest needs.

Jesus said:

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
— John 14:6 (NIV)

And in every trial, we can rest in the assurance of His presence:

“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
— Matthew 28:20 (NIV)

In Him, we find peace beyond understanding, hope beyond disappointment, and strength beyond our own ability. One day, all our questions will fade in the light of His glory, and every tear will be wiped away.

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain…” Amen.
— Revelation 21:4 (NIV)

Until then, we walk by faith, trusting not in what we know, but in the One who knows all things.
