“Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him: but I will maintain mine own ways before Him”
Job 13:15
Maturity and growth comes when we learn to look beyond our circumstances and choose to trust God no matter the outcome or how life turns out. This is faith.
For faith is the evidence that you have already received what you have been praying for. Trust is an evidence of that faith in you. Faith in God only and not in our abilities.
For we are mere mortals and are prone to mistakes and misjudgements. We are limited in our vision and we lack the wholistic perspective to understand the big aerial picture. Hence, trusting in any man is the road to huge disappointments.
Without faith, it is simply impossible to please God. Therefore, we must believe that God exists, we must believe that everything that pertains to God including His Word is real and most effective. He is a Rewarder of those who seek Him, who believe, who trust and depend on Him.
Just like Shadrach, Mesharch and Abednego before the burning furnace; just like Job in our text today, we must tenaciously make a resolve, that even if we don’t receive the answers we want from God, even if God delays in His response, no matter how difficult the road and the journey may become, no matter how overwhelmed we may be right now, no matter the situation and predicament we face, that we will always trust God.
This is maturity. This is faith. This is what it means to trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding.
No matter what is bothering you today, no matter the reason or the duration it takes, trust God’s plan, trust God’s process, and trust God’s purpose.
Never lose your trust in God.
