It’s not about the gift but more about the giver. It is more about the heart – cheerfulness or grumpiness of the giver. Men usually applaud those who give more, and quickly brush aside the little givers. The big overt donors of time and service are quickly recognised and the silent prayer storms behind the scenes are somewhat ignored.

But thanks be to God, who looks at the heart and rewards every man accordingly as his heart portrays.

Jesus applauded the widow who gave little out of nothing. Though she longed to give more, she gave all she had. She gave sacrificially. She gave in cheerful pain. While others brought out of their abundance and gave without a heart.

But thanks be to God, who looks at the heart and rewards every man accordingly as his heart portrays.

We must all follow our Master, to applaud every gift both great and small; to thank the Lord for their generosity and their sacrifice. We must not judge a a giver by the measure of his gift but by their intentions and motives.

God does not reward the pocket but the motive behind the pocket.
