Does God have favourites? I dare to ask
In whispers soft, every tale is told,
Of the vast love of the Holy One
That weaves through our lives unseen,

The Good Shepherd that tends with care
His heart, reserved for every lamb
The orphan, the troubled, the stray, the free
God’s favourites in everyplace we stand

God’s favourites, we shall always be
The ones who love, forgive, and obey,
That seek Him as their treasure every day
Or the prodigal, the thief, the sinful lass
The ones who care not for their Maker
In each, the embrace of His saving grace,

Does God have favourites? I dare to ask
God’s favourites is just you and me
